Preparing for Installation
Before starting the installation of AGV magnetic tape, it is essential to gather all necessary materials and tools. This includes the magnetic tape itself, adhesive, a measuring tape, a marker, and a utility knife. Ensuring that you have everything on hand will streamline the process and help avoid unnecessary delays.
Next, it’s important to assess the environment where the AGV will operate. Make sure the surface is clean and free from any debris or obstacles that could interfere with the adhesion of the tape. Additionally, consider the layout of the path the AGV will follow, taking into account turns, slopes, and any potential hazards.

Installation Process
Once you’ve prepared the area, begin by measuring and marking the desired path for the magnetic tape. Use the measuring tape to determine the correct length and width, and mark these dimensions clearly on the floor. This step is crucial for ensuring that the tape is laid down in a straight and precise manner.
After marking the path, carefully peel back the backing of the magnetic tape and position it along the marked lines. Press down firmly to ensure proper adhesion. If the tape requires additional adhesive, apply it evenly along the length of the tape before placing it down. Make sure to smooth out any air bubbles that may form during this process.
Final Touches and Testing
Once the magnetic tape is installed, it’s important to allow sufficient time for the adhesive to cure. This may take several hours or as recommended by the manufacturer. During this curing period, avoid moving any AGVs over the newly installed tape to ensure optimal adhesion.
After the adhesive has set, conduct a thorough test by running the AGV along the path. Monitor its performance to ensure it follows the magnetic tape accurately. If any adjustments are needed, make them promptly to achieve the best operational efficiency for your automated guided vehicle system.
